Last month I went to Wakefield and got two laps in putting around in torrential rain. Yesterday I went back for a relaxed mid-week run with perfect weather. There were around 7 street cars, 5 tin tops and 1 open wheeler with a 15 year old kid driving!
Had a great day getting used to the track and the weird noises coming from my drive train as the gearbox oil got hot. Eight lap sessions might be a bit much for a stock-ish car and I must confess I’m not the smoothest driver out there.
There was no timing but from the videos I took it looks like I’m in the low 1:20′s. A good place to start with a turbo MX5 and it leaves me with the goal of getting into the teens consistently.
